Student Chamber Seminar


The Student Chamber Seminar is part of the Vocal Arts and Music Festival. The intensive includes coaching and group rehearsals for eight or more hours daily, seven days a week, for two weeks with internationally renowned master musicians. A handful of student chamber music groups are selected to participate.




SINE NOMINE

Victoria Senko, a sophomore at Lake Howell High School, has won the Florida Young Artists concerto competition twice and has been concert master of the Florida Young Artists Orchestra and the Cannon Music Camp Symphony at Appalachian State University. Jomar Soto, a sophomore at Lake Howell High School, is a first violin in the Symphony Orchestra of U.C.F. and was a member of the All-State orchestra this year. Caroline Senko, a sophomore at Lake Howell High School, has been principal violist in the Florida Young Artists Orchestra as well as the Cannon Music Camp Symphony at Appalachian State University, has won the VSA Florida competition, and has performed for over 10,000 people in Tampa at a Florida Orchestra concert. Ivan Kaiser, a junior at Lake Howell High School, is principal cellist of the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra and was assistant principal of the Florida All State Orchestra in 2012.




SMALL TOWN MOON TRIO
 
Pianist Jessica Wang, a Blacksburg High School sophomore, has performed as a soloist with the Renaissance Music Academy Chamber Orchestra in 2009 and 2011, after winning first prize in the Junior Level and Senior Level Concerto Competition, and in 2012 Jessica was awarded second place in the Richmond Symphony Orchestra League Concerto Competition.  Blacksburg High School sophomore Megan Carlier, cello, has been Principal Cellist of the RMA Chamber Orchestra since 2010, has participated in the Credo Chamber Music Festival and Ameropa Festival in Prague, and competed as a finalist for the Shelor Motor Mile Growing the Future Talent Show, winning $2,500 for Blacksburg High School and $500 for herself. Violinist Valory Hight, a Dayspring Christian Academy junior, is currently the concertmaster of the Renaissance Music Academy Chamber Orchestra, and at the age of 10, she recorded a CD with the RMA Chamber Orchestra.
