Four solo exhibitions reinvent the tradition

Adam Cvijanovic, a New York-based painter, transforms the entire Upper Gallery with a site-specific installation. Cvijanovic’s monumental murals and installations are distinguished by exceptional technical skill; an often implausible, even surreal sensibility; and an innovative use of house paint and acrylic on Tyvek®, the synthetic material used in FedEx envelopes and housing insulation. The results, painted in sections and applied to wall surfaces, have been shown internationally in venues from New York to Sydney, Australia. For his project here, Cvijanovic will develop a new work in response to the New River Valley.
