Composer/performer and media artist Pamela Z makes solo works combining a wide range of vocal techniques with electronic processing, samples, gesture activated MIDI controllers, and video. She has toured extensively across the U.S., Europe, and Japan; created installations; and has composed scores for dance, film, and new music chamber ensembles. Her numerous awards include a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Creative Capital Fund, the CalArts Alpert Award, the ASCAP Award, and the NEA/JUSFC Fellowship. This performance culminates a week-long residency with the School of Performing Arts, and includes a new work designed specifically for the Cube’s unique environment in collaboration with Eric Lyon, associate professor of music technology and composition.
Presented in partnership with the School of Performing Arts
