The festival’s first night celebrates instrument makers and players, with pre-performance demos and displays in the lobbies and an incredible evening of music on stage. Mac, a master banjo maker, and Jenny Traynham perform music from a wide range of influences and will open the concert with old-time county music from the Carter Family tradition. Mountain Fling also performs music of the Carter Family and features master autoharp maker John Hollandsworth, Kathie Hollandsworth, Jim Lloyd, and Eddie Ogle. Then we welcome Wayne Henderson and the Virginia Luthiers to the stage. These outstanding musicians also are world-renowned musical instrument builders with more than 150 combined years of experience making some of the best guitars, mandolins, violins, ukuleles, and banjos available today.
The Oaks Victorian Inn and the Clay Corner Inn are running special package promotions for the Crooked Road Festival.
